The Cloudbusters Wigwam PG Open Paragliding Championships The Cloudbusters Wigwam PG Open Paragliding Championships will take place at Wigwam Hotel near Rustenburg on 21 - 27 March 2010. This will be the first round of the 2010 SA National Paragliding Cup and the purpose of the competition is to determine the first Ieg National Paragliding Cup Champion in the categories of Novice, Intermediate, Serial, Sport. Woman and Open on an international level.
Participants from all over the wold will compete in this fantastic event and betweel 60 to 80 pilots are expected here. Distances (straight-line and triangular) of between 35 - 150km at heights of up to 4 000m are flown in the tasks set during the competition, depending on the weather.
This means that pilots will do land-outs both inside and outside the Rustenburg town area. The current world distance record was set here in South Africa at Copperton in the Karoo by a South African pilot, Nevil Hulett in December 2008 at a massive distance of 507km. He will also participate here in the competition.

OPEN DAY
To create awareness of the sport. there will be an open day event at Wigwam Hotel on Saturday, March 20, where pupils of Oom Paul School will take part in free tandem flights. There will also be an exhibition jump by the Rustenburg Parachute Club. For more information contact Chris van Noord at the above number. Kan enige eimand wat dalk weet van enige moontlike borge, gee nie om hoe klein nie, asb vir my die name en kontak besonderhede aanstuur ek sal hulle kontak. Soos bv Stefanutti Stocks, Nuk ens.
